Birth Year Network or BYN was conceived in a small library room in Henderson, NV in December 2002 by several women involved in the birthing community.

The idea of BYN was to bring together professionals associated with the birthing year that also believed in informed consent and informed choice. The founding members spent 6 months planning the next move and in June 2003 Birth Year Network gave life to their first monthly meeting at the Summerlin Library. As the word spread the people came and learned about their birthing and parenting choices.

Today BYN has grown to over 35 members which include midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, chiropractors, lactation consultants, massage therapists, essential oil specialists, and Photographers, just to name a few. Meeting topics cover ‘Holistic Care for your Baby’, ‘To Induce or Not to Induce’, ‘Birthing Without Drugs’ plus postpartum and breastfeeding information.

These events would not be possible without the support of our community, our members who volunteer their time to help you in your Birth Year decisions, and the generous donations given by our guests. So, please keep sharing your pregnancy, birth and parenting stories and throw in a little bit about BYN. The other person will be glad you did and we will welcome them with open arms and warm hearts.
